Questions & Answers

Most Asked

what is the level of fitness required?

I believe that the best way to see a destination is to walk around. Sometimes you may have to walk to a waterfall or just take a few flights of stairs. But sometimes we will be exploring an entire city.  You must be able to explore the destination on foot, unaided. You must also be able to carry your own suitcase and handle it up a short flight of stairs. If you are unsure of an activity level for a certain tour, please contact me. If a tour requires a high level of fitness, it will be noted on the tour page.

what meals are included?

This depends on the tour.   Meals will be listed on the itinerary page.

is my deposit refundable?

Because of our up-front costs organizing our trips and pre-paying hotels and other vendors, we can’t give you a refund if your plans change or you are unable to travel because of health issues, work or family commitments, financial hardship or any other reason other than the above-mentioned government imposed Covid-19 restrictions. Plus, when we match you to a roommate, we cannot guarantee that we can find another roommate, creating a difficult situation whereby they would have to pay a single supplement that they may not be able to afford. This policy is the only way we can maintain the required minimum group size and impeccable level of service we provide. Travel Insurance is the only mechanism that can reimburse you if you are unable to join the trip. We strongly urge you to purchase comprehensive travel insurance. We will send you a quote from our preferred Travel Insurance provider, Travel Guard (AIG) or you have the option to buy your own insurance from a trusted source.

In the highly unusual event that Sisterhood Travels has to reschedule or cancel a trip for a reason unrelated to a Covid-19 government restriction, we will offer you the option of a) Joining us on the rescheduled trip at a later date (we will make every effort to pick new dates that work for everyone), b) applying your payment(s) towards a different trip, or c) receiving a full refund..

when should I book my airfare?

Some tours have a minimum number of participants for the tour to be a go.  This will be noted in the itinerary.  If this tour has a minimum, please don't book airfare until I tell you it's ok. Otherwise, a good rule of thumb is six to four months out.  And as always, I highly recommend travel insurance to cover this type of occurance.

How do I purchase travel insurance?

I am authorized to sell travel insurance through Travel Guard (AIG).  After you register, I will contact you to see if you'd like a quote.

I have never traveled alone, how will you assist me to ease my nerves?

I will give you detailed instructions on how to navigate the airport once you arrive at the airport of our destination.   I will communicate where we will meet or where to meet your driver or bus.   I will have your cell phone number (important to enable international service with your provider) and you will have my cell phone so if  there are hiccups we can talk through it together!  You won't be left behind!!

do I need a passport?

If we are traveling internationally, you must have a passport and the expiration date must be at least six month out from our travel date.   I will request a copy of your passport to make sure you are compliant and to keep in case it is lost or stolen.
